2048 5×5
2048 5×5 expands the board to 25 cells, giving you more room to build number chains and create larger tiles. Play instantly in your browser with no account; your 5×5 progress and best score are saved separately on this device.
The merge rules are unchanged: two equal tiles combine into one tile with double the value. The difference is space—5×5 has 25 cells instead of 16. You can preserve empty cells longer, but you also have more rows and columns to control. It is a different pace, not simply an “easy mode.”
The larger board gives you more recovery room, but careless swipes can still separate your biggest tiles. Keep one primary corner, build a descending chain around it and avoid dragging high-value tiles into the center.
It is a 2048 variant played on a 5-row by 5-column board with 25 cells. Movement, merging and scoring follow the same rules as traditional 2048.
The larger board provides more empty space and more time to recover, but managing clean number chains across 25 cells also takes more planning. The modes feel different rather than being simply easy versus hard.

2048 5×5 uses the same merge and scoring rules as 4×4, but the board has 25 cells. The extra row and column give you more recovery space, so the key is to use that space deliberately instead of letting high-value tiles drift apart.
The board is 5 rows × 5 columns (25 cells). Undo is available for one move, the current 5×5 game is saved locally, and its best score and statistics are tracked separately from every other board size.
Try 5×5 if standard 4×4 feels cramped but you still want a board that stays easy to read on phones and desktops. It is also a useful bridge before moving into the much longer 6×6, 8×8 and 10×10 variants.
Board-size modes use classic 2048 merging, while variants such as Fibonacci change the merge rule itself. Pick the challenge that matches how you want to play.
