2048 8×8
2048 8×8 expands the puzzle to 64 cells, making it well suited to long games and very large tiles. Extra space gives you more choices, but it can also spread valuable tiles too far apart. Stable play comes from dividing the board into useful zones and keeping a preferred direction instead of filling every open area just because it is available.
The merge rules are unchanged, but an 8-row by 8-column board gives you 64 positions. The grid fills much more slowly, so the main challenge shifts from simple survival to controlling the distance between high-value tiles. Moves that look harmless can dilute your main chain and make later merges take many extra turns.
Use one corner as an anchor, turn the two nearby edges into your high-value zone and use the rest of the board as a staging area. Merge small tiles before feeding them into the main zone. On 8×8, keeping a dense cluster of useful values near the anchor is more reliable than trying to build one perfect chain across all 64 cells.
It is a 2048 variant played on an 8-row by 8-column grid with 64 cells. Movement, merging and scoring follow the usual 2048 rules.
There is more room, so early game overs are less common, but large tiles can become separated across the wider grid. The opening is more forgiving while long games require stronger board-wide organization.

2048 8×8 expands the board to 64 cells. The opening is spacious, but the real challenge appears later when matching high-value tiles can be separated by many rows and columns. Think in zones instead of trying to control all 64 cells as one chain.

8×8 is less about avoiding an early game over and more about managing distance and merge logistics. It suits players who want very long sessions and room to build tiles far beyond the normal 4×4 pace.
Board-size modes use classic 2048 merging, while variants such as Fibonacci change the merge rule itself. Pick the challenge that matches how you want to play.
