The 5×5 version keeps the normal 2048 rules but expands the board from 16 cells to 25. The extra space gives you more time to recover from a bad position, but it can also scatter high-value tiles if you keep changing direction. How is 2048 5×5 different from 4×4?
Movement and merging work exactly the same. What changes is the pace: the larger board can hold more intermediate tiles, but you also have an extra row and column to keep organized.
Strategy for the 2048 5×5 board
Keep the highest tile in one corner and arrange the next values down the same edge. Do not treat the extra empty cells as permission to swipe at random. Late in the game, keeping your largest tiles close together matters more than simply preserving open space.
