    2048 GOAL 1024

    This goal mode uses the classic 4×4 rules but changes the milestone to the 1024 tile. Your run is saved separately, so you can focus on this target without overwriting another 2048 game. After reaching 1024 you can continue playing toward even larger tiles.

    How does the 1024 goal mode work?

    Swipe in four directions to merge equal values exactly as in classic 2048. The mode marks the run as successful when a tile reaches 1024 or higher. Score, best result, Undo state and statistics belong to this goal mode only.

    Strategy for reaching the 1024 tile

    Keep your largest tile anchored in one corner, build a descending chain beside it and avoid unnecessary moves in the opposite direction. Protect empty space and combine small values before the board becomes fragmented.

    2048 rules: how the game works

    2048 is a single-player sliding number puzzle. Every move shifts the whole 4×4 board in one direction, equal tiles merge, and the goal is to create a 2048 tile before the board runs out of legal moves.

    1. Swipe on touchscreens or use the arrow keys / WASD on a keyboard to slide every tile as far as it can move.
    2. Two equal tiles that collide merge once during that move: 2 + 2 becomes 4, 4 + 4 becomes 8, and so on.
    3. After each valid move, one new tile appears in an empty cell. This implementation uses the standard 90% chance of a 2 and 10% chance of a 4.
    4. Creating 2048 wins the goal, but you can keep playing toward 4096, 8192 and higher. The run ends only when no legal slide or merge remains.

    How scoring works in 2048

    Your score increases by the value of every tile created by a merge. For example, combining two 32 tiles makes 64 and adds 64 points. A swipe that only moves tiles without merging does not add merge points, although it can create space for the next turn.

    Which 2048 mode should you start with?

    Use standard 4×4 if you want the familiar game with one-move Undo and local progress saving. Choose Classic for a stricter no-Undo 4×4 run, or move to 5×5, 6×6, 8×8 and 10×10 when you want more space and longer games.
